He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Pellen and Hester Shepherd Pellen; his wife Donna McFadden Pellen; his grandchildren, Seth O'Bright and Lyric Jo; and his siblings, Vina Boring, Veronica Corbin, Margaret Parriott, Donald, Ronald, Phillip and Thomas Pellen.
He is survived by: his children, Loretta Keener (Steve) of Short Creek, WV, Samuel Pellen, Jr. (Amy) of Short Creek, WV, Donna L. Pellen (Scott Sandreth) of Windsor Heights, WV and Sandra Dee Lough (Richard) of West Liberty, WV; his siblings, James Pellen (Robin) of Triadelphia, WV, Eunice Davis of Short Creek, WV, Maxine Mercer of Burgettstown, PA, Lois Williams (James) of Windsor Heights, WV and Sylvia Smith of Wellsburg, WV; and his sister-in-law Carol Pethel of Wheeling, WV. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several special neighbors.
