She was predeceased by: her parents, John Grant Metz and Madlyn L. Metz (Valentines); her sister Paulette Grady; her son John Kevin Butcher; her granddaughter Leslie Dawn Butcher; and her siblings, Patrick, John Metz and Theresa Metz.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Butcher (Allen) of Weston and Jim Butcher (Kay) of Jane Lew; her daughter-in-law Susan Butcher of Jane Lew; her grandchildren, John Kevin Butcher, II, Alden Kent Butcher, Cameron Michael Butcher, Trent Allen Butcher, Caleb Patrick Butcher, Logan Kyle Butcher and Kelsea E. Butcher; her great grandchildren, Eliza R. Butcher, Madlyn E. Butcher, Kohen L. Butcher, Collier D. Butcher, Rylee N. Butcher, Bailee R. Butcher, Hayley J. Butcher and Jensen J. Butcher; and her siblings, James, Michael Metz, Mary Facemire, Julia Nicholas, Charlotte Harris, Annette McCormick and Roberta Welling.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (210 Center Ave, Weston, WV 26452). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the St. Patrick Catholic School in memory of Dorothy Jean Butcher to 224 Center Avenue Weston, WV 26452.
