We announce the death of Charles E. Burney Sr. of Wheeling, West Virginia, born in Powhatan Point, Ohio, who passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 70. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Burney and Mary Ellen Burney (Donaldson); his brothers, Clarence Burney, Jr. and Jerry "Buck" Burney; and his sibling-in-law Peaches.
He is survived by: his children, Jocelyn Hall (Wayne), Charles Burney, Jr. (Jessica), Christina Burney and Vincent Burney; his brother Eugene Burney; his grandchildren, Breona, Bre'Aiza, Jamez, Deondre, De'Asia, Mare, Daelynn and Dahrel; his great grandchildren, Cavohn, Cai'Liek, Kapri, Kih'yan, Ma'Kai and Ka'Liyah; and his close friend Felisa Cunningham.
His sense of camaraderie and contribution to these organizations reflected his commitment to service and fellowship.
