He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Elston and Flora T. Elston (Yeager); and his siblings, Lawrence Elston and Mary C. Thornberry. He is survived by: his niece Rebecca Selmon (Robert Jr.); and his great-nephews, Andrew and Arin Selmon. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home - Elm Grove Chapel (154 Kruger St, Wheeling, WV 26003). A Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (2244 Marshall Ave, Wheeling, WV 26003). A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Stone Church Cemetery (142 Stone Church Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003).
