She was predeceased by: her parents, William H. Wheeler and Florence Wheeler (Baron); her husband James Taylor Newlin; her daughter Cynthia Newlin; and her brother William B. Wheeler.

She is survived by: her children, James Newlin (Donna) of Richmond, VA and Amy Newlin-Edwards (Jeff) of Charleston, SC.; and her great grandchild Barontyn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
