He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward John, Sr. and Marie Hostutler Mahlke; his wife Helen Heffner Mahlke; his siblings, Kay Knabe (Butch), Don Mahlke (Joanne) and Dave; and his brother-in-law Ernie.
He is survived by: his nieces, Susan Hamilton and Sally Beth Mahlke; his nephew-in-law Ed Erb; his children, Marilyn Thalman (Ray), Mark Thalman (Julie), Maureen Kerr (Steve), Brady, Claire, Evan, Andy Thalman (Amy), Nora, Graham, Ike, Regina Fragale (Matt), Vince, Luke, Charlotte, Jane Mahlke and Anna Marie Stewart (Jeff); his sister Phyllis Conner; and his sister-in-law Katie Mahlke. He is also survived by his 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
