It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James J. McGrail Jr. of Wheeling, West Virginia, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James J. McGrail and Bernetta Beltz McGrail; his sisters, Eileen McGrail Ritter, Joan McGrail Nau, Sarah "Sally" McGrail Mull and Lenore McGrail Noll; and his grandsons, James McGrail IV and Jonathan McGrail.

He is survived by : his wife Eileen Rarey McGrail; and his children, James (Deborah), Mark (Jody), Scott, Todd (Susan), Kim Knapp, Kit Sloane (Edward), Kris Bowman (Thomas) and Kelly Cook (Scott). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 10 nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home - Wheeling Chapel (1400 Eoff St, Wheeling, WV 26003). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Vincent DePaul Church (2244 Marshall Ave, Wheeling, WV 26003).
