He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Cowan and Leah M. Cowan (Fisher); his parents-in-law, Robert M. and Mary Jo Harler; his stepson Troy Reinhardt; and his nephew Justin Jake Farlaino.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Cowan of Triadelphia; and his children, Lynsey R. Cowan of Pennsylvania and Joshua Charles Cowan of Wheeling. He is also survived by 13 brothers and sisters; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
