He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Jean Fekete (Dottie); his stepson Joseph Baranski; his parents, John Kovalchie and Eva Kovalchie; and his siblings, John, Michael, Mary, Anna, Katherine and Helen.
He is survived by: his sister Rosella George of Wheeling; his stepchildren, Melissa Schrebe (Matt) of Wheeling and Craig Baranski (Nancy) of Wheeling; his stepgrandchildren, Matthew (Jorden), Ryan Marissa (Michael), Courtney Schrebe, Mitchell and Abigail Baranski; and his sibling's children, Becky, Don Cox and Susan George. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
