He was predeceased by: his parents, William Benton and Lucille Ewing (Murphy). He is survived by: his wife Alice Ewing (Stead); his daughter Carrie Ann Shipman (David); his grandchildren, Morgan McCort Caleb (Zach Morris), Morris and Laura Shipman; and his nieces and nephews, David Hanson (Cristina Hanson), Chris, Carrie, Craig, Chad Young and Godchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Moundsville Honor Guard, Helping Heroes, and Healing Waters Wheeling.
