He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Ray and Madeline Grace Lively Harris; his brother Charlie Ray Harris, Jr.; and his great grandchild Chad William Hartley. He is survived by: his siblings, Bonnie Grace Harris, Steven Russell Harris and Leah Jane Harris O'Dell; his former wife Barbara Darlene Carnell Harris; and his children, Barbara Ellen Harris White, Stephanie Lynn Harris Dunbar and Richard Lee Harris. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
