He is survived by: his wife Iris Shanklin (Cook) of Whitman; his siblings, Fred Shanklin (Sharon) of McConnell and Debbie Ferrell of Georgia; his stepmother Pearl Shanklin of North Michell Heights; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Cook of Davin, Kennith Cook (Phyllis) of Proctorville, OH, Gary Cook (Cheryl) of Morgantown, Terry Cook (Marie) of Ashland, KY and Larry Cook of Huntington; and his nieces and nephews, Freddie Shanklin (Lisa) of McConnell, Timothy Cook of Boston, MA, Scotty Cook, Shellie Phillips of Huntington, Mary Beth Ferrell of Chapmanville, Cheryl Webb, Kristen Ferrell and Kelly Ferrell.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Claypool Community Church (752 Huff Crk Hwy, Man, WV 25635). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
