He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Washington Mercer and Louellen Turner; his former spouse Shirley Mercer; and his siblings, Foy, Andrew, Janie, George, Adelle, Hazel, James, Woodrow, Johnny and Bobby.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Steele, Darrow Mercer, Beth Wade (Robert) and Lisa Estep; Lynwood Mercer (Janette) and Mavis Ircink (Charles). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
