He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Erwin and Pearl Gillispie Erwin; and his siblings, Ruby Carroll and Odell Erwin. He is survived by: his wife Mae Erwin; his children, Buck Erwin of Winfield, David Erwin (Melissa) of Hurricane, Mark Erwin of Bancroft, Joyce Wray (Michael) of Winfield, John Erwin of Burlington, KY and Larry Mullett II of Burlington, KY; and his sisters, Loraine Billings (Frank) of Gastonia, NC and Margie Carico of Galax, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
