David left this world on September 12, 2025 at the age of 70, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald (Wilma Payne) and David; and his siblings, Lonnie Payne and Barbara Mays. He is survived by: his wife Tina Clagg Payne of Scott Depot; his children, Amy Curtiss (Darold) of Hurricane, WV, Jeremy Payne (Valerie) of Winfield, WV and Sara Payne Scarbro (Derek) of Huntington, WV; his grandchildren, Nic Osburn, Tyler Payne, Gabby Osburn, Mason Payne, Seth Potter, Christian Payne, Olivia Payne and Willa Scarbro; his great grandchild Greyson Payne; and his siblings, Donnie Ray Payne (Lorraine) of Bickmore, WV and Patty Kayser (Wayne) of Scott Depot, WV. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
