He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Cottrell (Pat Cummings) of Charleston, Clyde Cottrell (Roberta) of Jackson County, Jimmy Cottrell of Pax, Sammy Cottrell (Cheryl) of Dawes, Fay Cottrell of Winifrede, Kay Taylor of Pax, Nancy Hammonds (Les) of Lewisburg and Lydia Abbott of Indiana; his brother-in-law Albert Rawlings of Charleston; his caregiver Steven Todd Rumbaugh (Lorie) of Winifrede; Leon Rumbaugh and Donna Ball. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and may other children whom he considered his grandchildren.
