He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerry Hester and Mary Hester; his brother G. G.; and his stepdaughter Tracey Ross. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nicolaysen of Casper; his children, Kirsten Parker Nicolaysen (Tim Parker) of Walla Walla, Peter Nicolaysen (Pam Brondos) and Jon C. Nicolaysen (Kem); his stepgrandson Alex Ross; his grandchildren, Maren, Emma, Lucas Nicolaysen, Brooks, Tobias Parker, Gwen, Jane and Soren Nicolaysen; his sister Karen Overton (Sid); and his siblings-in-law, Adrienne Bonnet, David, Kathy Bowers, Michael and Sondra McCoy. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church or the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
