It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Backhaus of Casper, Wyoming, born in Electra, Texas, who passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jack. She is survived by: her children, Cyndee, Michael, Sharon and Dan; and her sisters, Margaret and Beverly. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (710 E 2nd St, Casper, WY 82601). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery (80 Veterans Dr, Evansville, WY 82636).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Calvary Baptist Church in Casper or Bible Baptist Church in Sidney, MT.
