He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Freouf; his siblings, Gordon "Bud" Thompson, Floyd Thompson, Beverly Rusk (Gayle) and Norma Jean Keil (Dwight "Doc"); and his son-in-law Andy Guerra.
He is survived by: his daughters, Charlene Guerra of Independence, MO, Monica Peterson (Mick) of Farmington, NM, Deanna Johnson (Karl) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Sandy Kreutner (Dale) of Brandon, SD; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Thompson and Norma Thompson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandsons.
