“I just read the news about the death of Jim and I am deeply saddened. Jim was a mentor to me as a young attorney and gave me the opportunity to be a member of the CJA panel. As a result, I was a panel member for 25 years. During that time, Jim was always supportive and provided guidance to me. In spite of some of my shortcomings at times, he was never harsh or negative rather he was positive and encouraged me to be a better attorney and learn from my mistakes. He was extraordinary.”
