He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Shutt and Florence Shutt (Dodds); his wife Ginger Soesbe; his son-in-law Louie Harsin; his grandchildren, Terence James Gilligan and Brook Shutt; and his foster daughter Tammy Spence.

He is survived by: his children, Melanie Shutt, Michelle Harsin, Jerry Shutt (Theresa) and Lowell Shutt (Carly); and his grandchildren, Scott Harsin, Shawn Harsin, Jeremy Shutt (Jordan), Jason Shutt (Alyssa), Leah Combs, Josh Shutt, Taylor Shutt, Crosby Shutt, Delbert Spence and Candy Spence. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members.
