He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard L Steele and Shirley L Steele; his cousin Bobby Burkett; and his grandparents, Victor, Ester Steele, Melvin and Dora Mae Breazeale.

He is survived by: his siblings, LeAnna Steele (Ford) of Green River, WY, Healther Christensen (Alonzo) of Carpenter, WY and Richard Steele of Cheyenne, WY; his children, Elizabeth Steele and Melvin Steele of Utah; and his nieces and nephews, Cody Joe, Sara Shane (Autumn), RiAnna (Devin) and Molly. He is also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and countless cousins.
