He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Pauline and James Willard McCormick; his stepfather Max Makoff; his siblings, Robert, James, George, Peggy, Roger and Ralph; his stepsiblings, Edward, Donald, Mickey, Victor, Josephine and Maxine; his wife Phyllis Lane; and his son-in-law Charles Shelby.

He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Spangler, Tim McCormick (Marty), Ann Shelby and Dan McCormick (Kim); and his grandchildren, Robert, Christina, Emma, Nora and Max.
