Rod Bishop wrote a sympathy message

“I met Bill in 8th grade and again as an intern with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. I had the privilege of working with Chief Stiess until he retired. When he moved to Cody and visited Naples, we would have lunch. He was a friend, coach, mentor and he will be missed and thought of everyday. I still have his Sgt card he gave me back in the late 80’s that is will treasure forever. Thank you for everything Chief! I will miss you more than anyone will know. RIP #327. Capt Rod Bishop, ret.”
