He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Herring and Gladys Herring (Fisher); his siblings, Gene (Carol), Bob (Bobbie), Earl, George, Bill, Cheryl (George Hooker), Betty (Fox Vyvey) and Nancy (Bill Petre); his parents-in-law, Mable and Don Henderson; and his siblings-in-law, Frank (Phyllis), Roy Henderson (Judy), Bob Vorn, Gordy Nordin and Helen Hodgekiss.

He is survived by: his son Don Herring (Lisa) of Encampment, WY; his grandchildren, Kaylyn, Alexia and Deke; his daughters, Tina Herring of Encampment, WY and Teresa Pittman of Vale, SD; his friend Red Williams; his granddaughter Dani; his siblings, Orvil (Gigi), Stu Herring (Brenda), Patricia, Margret and LeDawn; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Nordin, Loretta Weber and JoDell Hone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
