Bernice May Hertel Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 27, 2025, at the age of 89, Bernice May Hertel in Gillette, Wyoming passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Schaffer and Alvina Schaffer (Giegle). She is survived by: her husband Willie Hertel; her children, Kenny Hertel (Shirley), Danny Hertel, Loren Hertel (Bonnie), Larry Hertel (Brenda) and Valerie Sweeney (Ron); her daughter-in-law Mame Hertel; her siblings, Dennis Schaffer (Barb), Bob Schaffer, Gene Schaffer and Dian Sunberg (Les); her sisters-in-law, Sharlene Schaffer, Elnor Hertel and Yoko Schaffer; her son Gaylen; and her grandson Brady. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, along with 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established in Bernice's name to benefit Hospice of Campbell County donations may be sent to Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 W. 5th St. Gillette, WY 82716.
