He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas A. McDonald and Bernalea McDonald; his siblings, Thom and Ken; his wife Judith MacDonald; his daughter Shawna; his grandchildren, Willow, Reed and Tanner; his great grandchild Eli; his sister Karen; and his nieces, Katie and Colleen.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation to receive donations locally in his name.
