It is with sadness that the passing of Marlene Joy Jones of Gillette, Wyoming is shared. Marlene, born on May 14, 1939, passed away on August 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Marlene will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Marlene by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Marlene is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Marlene’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilmer Harl Nelson and Alta Marie Nelson (Manners); her husband Buell Earl Jones; and her brothers, Bill Nelson and Butch Nelson.
She is survived by: her sons, Gary Jones (Kathy) of Gillette, WY and Glade Jones (Carol) of Anacortes, WA; and her siblings, Ronnie Nelson (Pam), Linda Godfrey and Diane Ernst. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Legacy Chapel (1000 S Douglas Hwy, Gillette, WY 82716). A burial will be held on Saturday, July 3rd 2027 at 10:00 AM at the Eventide Cemetery.
