He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Boyd and Marjorie Ewoldson; and his sister Pam Melvin. He is survived by: his former wife Stephanie Meckem; his sons, Brian Boyd (Aimee) of Cheyenne and Michael Boyd of Gillette; his siblings, Pat Boyd (Lisa), Kelly Boyd (Cindy), Zane Boyd and Peggy Boyd; and his nephew Stephen Boyd.
