He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Butts and Lois Butts; his sister Elaine Downen; his brothers-in-law, Jack Downen and Duane Dowell; his nephew K. C. Colpitts; and his friends, Ed, Helen Barnette and Tyke Conroy.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jean Cape; his daughters, Tanya Reynolds (Pete), Robin Cash (Joey) and Ronita Shouldis (Nathan); and his sister Phyllis Colpitts (Ken). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
