We announce the death of Jose Ramon Garate in Laramie, Wyoming, who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 73. Jose will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Jose will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Jose will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Jose’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Garate; his daughters, Jessica Garate (Ryan Cangiolosi) and Mereya Garate (Colin Setright); and his granddaughters, Kadelyn Setright (Cutter Foster), Bailey Setright, Lola Kidder and Kaylee Cangiolosi. He is also survived by his family and many lifelong friends.
