He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Shepherd and Patricia Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Tracy Evon Shepherd; his children, Isaiah Carl Shepherd, Corey Wayne Crump and Myra Faye Shepherd Lipscome; and his siblings, Donald Henry Shepherd, Katherine Lynn Shepherd Phillips and Karen Anne Shepherd Gantley. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
