He was predeceased by: his parents, Avon Carpenter and Lois Carpenter; his siblings, Kenneth Carpenter and Sherri Friedman; and his nephew Kenneth V Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his sons, Rick Carpenter Jr. (Victoria) of North Platte and David Carpenter (DeAnn) of Hastings, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Christopher Carpenter of Hastings and Sadie Carpenter of Omaha; and his sister Deb Martinez (Floyd) of Huntsville, Alabama. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
