We announce the death of Rita M. Lopez in Rawlins, Wyoming, born in Bellwood, Nebraska, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 91. Rita will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her son Chris Lopez; her husband Salvador Lopez; her sons-in-law, Eric Cox and Roger Armstrong; and her parents, Clarence Peters and Margaret Peters.
She is survived by: her children, Beth Alvarado (Alex Alvarado), Tim Lopez (Sandy Cooper), Jeff Lopez, Cathy Lopez and Teri Driskell (Eric Driskell); her grandchildren, Eric Morrissey, Miguel Lopez, Cristina Morrissey, Sean Morrissey, Drew Morrissey, Larissa Lopez (Ian Cook), Leah Lopez, Toni Lopez (Erick Villalobas), Jill Lopez (Ben Bishop), Alden Hattlestad, Philip Powers, Carmylla Powers, Zachary Cox, Elijah Cox, John Driskell and Maya Driskell; her great grandchildren, Levi Trout (Hailey Trout), Isaiah Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Keegan Parker, Kylie Parker, Riddick O'Farrell, Ronan O'Farrell, Sally Cook, Rita Bishop and Paloma Bishop; and her great great grandchildren, Emerson Trout, Ellis Trout, Atlas Lopez and Quinn Parker. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and endless friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Saint Dominic Catholic Church (2915 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80211).
