She was predeceased by : her husband Thomas "Ted" Watan; her parents, John Shakespeare and Nellie Shakespeare; her siblings, Amelia Underwood, Lettie Spoonhunter, Leroy Shakespeare and O'Dell Shakespeare; and her grandson Daniel WhiteBird.

She is survived by : her daughters, Moneta Duran and Monica Watan; and her sisters, Jessie Spoonhunter and Alene Shakespeare. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
