He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse L Hughes and Ruth W Hughes (Hauck-Phelps); his siblings, Leona G Lujan, Mabel L Applehans, Bonnie L Hughes, Wilma J Hughes and Willard V Hughes; his grandson Adam Cole Paske; his close friends, Chuck Allard, Henry Pfiefer, Bill Lacey and Jason Jones; and his pet Thunder.

He is survived by : his former life partner Joyce Arlene Burtosky; his wife Vicki Lee Hallmark of Riverton; his children, Christy L Hughes-Moore of Riverton, John L Hughes (Carol) of Enderby, BC and Debra A Benford (Dan) of Sheridan; and his sisters, Ila Johnstone (Billy) of Kaycee, WY, Shirley Peck-Black of Riverton and Vada Galvan (Ben) of Farmington. He is also survived by Nine Grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
