He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Asay and Evelyn M. Asay (O'Donnell); his wife Shirley Asay; his grandsons, Craig A. Asay, Nathan Lacey and Joseph Lahnert; and his siblings, John, George, Jerome, Ronald, William Asay, Margaret Madsen, Catherine Elizabeth "Betty" Wallace Dickemper, Evelyn Stassinos and Rosemary Asay.
He is survived by: his children, David R. Asay, Jacquelyn R. Asay and Linda K. Asay-Glenn (Tim); and his sister Carole Ann Meyer (Chuck). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
