He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence George Howard and Cecilia McLaughlin Howard; and his siblings, Henry Howard, John G. Howard, Michael Howard, William T. Howard, Patricia Rigney, Cecelia Schoff, Dorothy Roth and Marjorie Reilly.
He is survived by: his siblings, Frank L. Howard of LeRoy, Ethel Stephenson of Wyoming and Mary Patri of Batavia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
