With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Simpson of Thayne, Wyoming, born in Afton, Wyoming, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 28, 2026 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Simpson and Thea Simpson (Farmers Feed Store); his former wife Kathleen Simpson (Schwab); and his grandparents, James, Eunice Simpson (Van Leuven), Almon, Mary Belle (Chadwick) and Harrison.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca J. Simpson (Barrett); his children, Shan S. Simpson and Sheila K. Hope (Simpson); his son-in-law David A. Hope; his grandchildren, Melanie of Salt, Natalie of Salt and Isaac Hope of Salt; and his brothers, Nolan Simpson (Kaylene) of Thayne, Evan Simpson (Bev) of Afton and Dahl Simpson (Chris) of Afton.

Even with Parkinson's, Steven never outgrew his need for speed.
