He was predeceased by: his father Slim Whitt; and his brother Hugh Whitt. He is survived by: his mother Betty Lou Whitt (Jones); his siblings, Hub, Kenny, Ab Whitt, Becky Cushing, Bonnie Whitt, Tammie Bostick and Kelly Russell (Kori (Ingram) Whitt); his children, Star Whitt (Nate Cumin) and Hawk Whitt; and his granddaughter Pistol Cumin. He is also survived by cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Ten Sleep Cemetery.
