He is survived by : his former life partner Sharon Davis; his children, Thomas Bates (Roxanne) of Central City, Nebraska, Jessica Pajimola (R. J.) of San Marcos and Shannon Schmitt (Deavion) of Dawson, Georgia; his brother Chet Bates (Cheryl) of Bellevue, Nebraska; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Isaac Bates of Central City, Kristen, Karisma Pajimola of San Marcos and Karl Thomas Schmitt of Dawson.
