“I've just found out this morning that Barbara passed away. I feel so sad to learn of this lovely woman's death and to realise that she'd been ill for quite a while without me being aware of this. It was special for me to have a friend who as an anglophone had also experienced living in Montreal was enjoying life in Albany, Western Australia. I used to delight in hearing Barbara's Canadian accent when she introduced speakers at UWA, when we chatted at the gym or shared dinners on Canada Day. xo”
