He was predeceased by: his parents, Romolo Chavez Tafoya and Maria DeAtocha Pena Tafoya; and his siblings, Herman, Lupe, Joseangel, Dulcenea and Lucille.

He is survived by: his son Chris Tafoya (Kendra); his grandchildren, Zane and Reese; and his siblings, Moises, Edmundo and Helen.
