He was predeceased by: his parents, John Newell and Sophia Newell; his sister Peggy Jones (Billy); his parents-in-law, William and Edna Duffy; his uncles, Joe Duffy, Gene Racine (Jean), Robert Duffy and Jack Duffy; and his siblings-in-law, Loman Horton and Linda Humphrey.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Newell; his children, Tracy Newell (Christina) and Kimberly "Kim" Newell (Perry Erwin); his sister Beverly Dzurovcak; his siblings-in-law, Linda Bertz, Kay Horton and William Duffy (Gerry); and his nieces and nephews, Chris Guess (family: Brad Bertz) and Scott Bertz (Lisa).
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (921 W Glen Park Ave, Griffith, IN 46319).
