Julie Cancela Obituary

Julie Cancela, born on April 12, 1943 in Hastings, Michigan, passed away on October 8, 2026. Julie leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Lee Cancela; her parents, Melina Demmons and Charles Demmons; and her brothers, Chuck and Butch Demmons.

She is survived by: her children, Edward Cancela (Kym), Mary Kaye Cancela and Tammy Cancela; her brother Fred Demmons (Cindy); her grandchildren, Alex Shields (Samantha), Fatima Cancela, Kailey Cancela, Lindsay Cancela and Emily Cancela; and her great grandchildren, James Nicholson, Rayden and Annabella Shields. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
