He was predeceased by : his wife Robin Burney. He is survived by : his children, Sarah Zambrotto and Deryl R. Burney; his grandchildren, Christian Zambrotto, Daniel Zambrotto, Carynne Wortman, Alexander Burney and Malakai Burney; his sister Deborah Jones; his nieces and nephews, Dana, Dennis and Charity; and his cousin Cheryl.
