He is survived by: his wife Susan Asbell Kitchens; his children, Joshua Caleb Kitchens, Elijah Seth Kitchens and Stacie Megan Tucker (John); his grandchildren, Cannen Tucker and Courtney Tucker; his siblings, Michael "Mike" Kitchens (Shelia), Chris Kitchens (Leslie), George Kitchens (Cindy) and Wanda Fowler (Ken); and his in-laws, Earl Asbell (Jane), Steve Asbell (Sandra), Sybil Newby (Johnny) and Frankie Asbell.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Reece Funeral Home (15548 US-80, Jeffersonville, GA 31044). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Kitchens Family Cemetery.
