He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Walter, Joyce Plattner and Frank Hertzel. He is survived by: his parents, Gerry Hertzel and Ellen Hertzel (Plattner) of Sabetha; his wife Shelli (Grant) of Latty, Ohio.; his children, Elsie, Aaron, Austin and Elena Hertzel; his brother Mark Hertzel (Kari) of Sabetha; his grandmother Ruth Hertzel of Sabetha; his parents-in-law, Phil and Gloria Grant of Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Amy Hopkins (Cris) of Ohio, Brad Grant (Kim) of Ohio, Alan Grant of Ohio, Benji Grant (Trish) of Ohio and Barry Grant (Julia) of Ohio. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church (1441 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Albany Cemetery.
