He is survived by: his parents, Junior Smith and Stella Messer Smith; his son Freddie Gomez; his granddaughters, Mia and Ava; and his siblings, Denedda Smith, Regina Redmond, Lovetta Shaw, Marsha Buchanan, Robin Smith and Raymond Smith. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and great nephews.
