He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnathan Fields and Odie Shepherd of Hyden, KY; and his siblings, Everett Spurlock of Corbin, Geneva Farris of Dayton, OH and Bonnie Napier of Hyden.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Fields of Corbin; his children, Glenda Proffitt (Kenneth) of Corbin and Michael Fields (Becky) of Kingsport, TN; his grandson Kenneth Proffitt, Jr.; his wife Jennifer Fields of Corbin; his great grandchildren, Aubree Proffitt of Corbin and Melia Proffitt of Corbin; his siblings, Alton Spurlock (Bernice) of Corbin, Kathy Shepherd (Alvin) and Rhonda Watson (Darrell); his sister-in-law Shirley Spurlock of London, KY.; Owen Fields of Kingsport.
